Actually, EPA will have 3 fixed days that everyone has to take (May 24, July 5, and August 30). The remaining days are at your discretion subject to management approval.

They are supposedly taking the month of June to assess exactly how many furlough days need to take (taking into account any saved personnel costs between now and then from people on lwop, part time people, unfilled positions, etc). [/quote]

Can you not read? I said 3 fixed days that everyone has to take. 10 that are flexible. Everything else the pp said still holds. So 4 between April 21 and June 1, one if which has to be May 24. Then up to 9 more between July 1 and September 30. I've seen the budget numbers-they may be able to reduce by a day or two, but it's not going to go away completely.

The reason no one has taken any days yet is that the government is required to provide 30 days notice, and the unions get a certain amount if time to appeal. For us, that puts the start date at April 21. We can't count any days before that as furlough days. [/quote]
