Interesting that you couldn't just let poster 22:27 comment go.....why this manic rush to defend Beauvoir against St. Pats?? And not to belabor this point, but if Beauvoir is so much "better" than St. Pats, than why do so many faculty members from St. Alban's (including AD) choose to send their kids to St. Pat's over B? And I don't buy the argument that they don't want their kids "down the hall." These kids would not even be in the same building with their parent if they went to B, and besides, if B was so far superior to St. Pats, you would think they wouldn't care if their kids' classrooms were next door. The implication here is that a group of academics who clearly have a handle on the education environment in DC, have chosen St. Pats over B for their children's education. This speaks volumes.
We are different posters and I am weighing in my opinion on the matter if that is ok with you. This is a myth about so many St. Alban's teachers children going to St. Pats. The reason why people are so defensive on this particular thread about Beauvoir is because this was a thread asking for advice from other Beauvoir parents and you came on it to trash Beauvoir and be ridiculous. That is why the mad rush to defend Beauvoir b/c your presence on this particular thread is not necessary, since I take it you don't attend Beauvoir. You obviously were rejected from Beauvoir and can't get past it or you just hate the school for no apparent reason which is even scarier!
Sorry, but St. Alban's faculty putting their children at St. Patrick's is no myth. It's a fact. There are also former Beauvoir teachers who send their children to St. Patrick's.
Your comments are just absurd, everytime you make them. And you continue to make them. What you should understand is that it doesn't matter whether your story is fact or myth. This doesn't speak volumes at all. We chose Beauvoir one child and another school for another child. We never applied to St. Patrick's after learning about it. I'm no academic and don't think it takes one to validate or justify school choice, but I have a handle on the education environment in DC and chose schools based on best fit for my children. Doesn't speak volumes about Beauvoir or the other school that we chose. Doesn't speak volumes about the schools of a few other families we know who have made different choices for kids in the same family.
