We buy high fiber whole wheat bread for sandwiches. My kids eat it willingly in sandwich form, but don't like the ends of the bread. I freeze them then make a big bread pudding with eggs, milk, maple syrup. It's tasty (at least DH and I think so) but the kids don't like it. So now what do I do with the butts of the bread loaf? Bread crumbs? I've never made them and we don't use them often. Ideas??? Thanks!
So right now, you use them to make a yummy treat that you and your husband like, but the kids don't? I'm failing to see the problem here. Keep doing just what you're doing!
Op here--good point :) we don't eat quite as much bread as the kids, especially me. Too much makes me tired for some reason. So bread pudding is not something either of us would eat copious amounts of. To the person who said they should just suck it up...I was that person who scoffed a the parents who cut the crusts off their child's sandwiches. Now? I totally do it. My dd eats much much less of her sandwich if I leave the crust on and she's the type of kid who gets cranky when she doesn't eat enough so I ate my words...ha ha ;)
