She does NOT have issues just because she doesn't agree with you. Many people feel this way - when I leave DC and go to the burbs, I'm always shocked at the obese people in leggings.

As a fat lady: If you're fat, you're fat. Refusing to wear leggings and a tunic shirt isn't going to hide the fact that you are fat. The issue is whether the look flatters what you have or not. Fat ladies wear flaired shirts because it emphasizes a smaller waist. It's more flattering.   I refuse to wear sack-cloth and ashes simply because I'm fat.   As far as leggings go, it completely depends on how they look on you. They can look just fine on some fat ladies and terrible on others. I've seen terrible leggings on skinny college age girls, too.
