I take Valtrex for it. Lysine works well too.
+1 for Valtrex, says my dirty herppie husband.
Yup me too. I get horrible fever blisters, not really a big cold sore, but a ton of tiny bumps. If i remotely feel that coming on, I pop some Valtrex and they never end up emerging. i always have a stash handy. It is odd, I have not had them since having kids. I feel like outbreaks are very hormonal for me. Also, I've been with my DH for 15 years and he has never had them. We have not been super careful. I have a theory that some people might be immune to Herpes, or might be carriers, but never mainfest symptoms. I'm suprised he never got them. I gave them to my mom and we never kissed on the mouth, I'm sure she contracted them via a shared object. Why never my DH with whom I'm intimate?
