Not very articulate about your biases, are you? You also aren't well educated. MLK and CC *are* part of the history of this country. The unbiased history of this country. Your desire to pick and choose certain narratives and try to call them standard is truly appalling.[/quote]

Yes, of course they are PART OF the vast and varied history of our country.  PPs have made clear that we want kids -- all kids -- to learn about them.  But it seems to some of us that a disproportionate amount of time and energy goes into teaching about PC topics (that include these important Americans, and rightly so) to the minimization or even exclusion of other leaders who are ALSO important parts of OUR American history.  it doesn't have to be either or (as in EITHER you want your kids to learn about MLK and CC OR you are a racist bigot).
