The images emerging are really quite disturbing. Is this situation going to spread to nearby locations? Anyone have friends / family there for context??
Seems like another incident of far-right anti-immigration tactics stoked by Musk/X and bots. POV: A Sudanese man is appropriately charged and detained after stabbing another man. No other details are given. Out come the anti-immigrants because how dare an immigrant harm one of us...only WE WHITE MEN are allowed to do the harming.
Wait - so the whole thing is fake news? Are the images just AI fabrications or something. ?
Are you daft? Its real. Violence stoked by far right anti immigrant bots who were targeting immigrants in Belfast because a Sudanese immigrant stabbed someone. Again, white men can commit crimes and it is not a reflection on ALL white men. In a racial and xenophobic world all immigrants should pay for the crime of one immigrant, all black people are thugs because one black person is a thug, all women are whores because one woman cheated. Now ask yourself who is performing the violent acts of property destruction, threats of harm, etc. "Mr. Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, had urged people to take to the streets after what he called an “invader attack on our people” in posts on social media. The billionaire Elon Musk had shared lists of locations around Northern Ireland for people to gather and shared posts by far-right figures in Britain." Gather for what? A man committed a crime. He was detained and charged. He will go to trial.
In essence your argument is this was merely an isolated incident involving one victim and one primary assailant, and that demonstrators were wrong to generalize based on the race of these two individuals. How is this Belfast attack any different than the rioting following the George Floyd situation?
