We could afford it if we gave up vacations and extras or didn't save for college. But we are not willing to. The cost is not worth it for us, given that MCPS works fairly well though not perfectly for our family. It's not clear to me that a private would be better -- different problems, but far from perfect. For us, MCPS plus enrichment we provide for our kids still allows us to enjoy the life we want and save for college.[/quote]
