Just a vent....my junior is taking 6 AP exams and so therefore, is missing 6 days of school and yet finals, quizzes and tests seem to be happening in a bunch of classes RIGHT now and so there is also a huge scramble to try to take extra exams after school in addition to studying for all tests. Why do all of these exams need to be right now when school ends June 17? I get that some kids are seniors and need to do them earlier but this is putting so much undue stress on the juniors and it is unnecessary. For a school system that pretends to care so much about mental health, this is NOT a way to show that you care.
Troll. AP exams don't take an entire day. Mine took AP Lit in the morning, then went to her two afternoon classes.
And the AP classes are not doing tests, finals or learning anything these two week since half of the kids or more are missing due to AP exams, or leaving school after their tests.
That’s true but in DCs case she had a poster due last week for an AP class, just prior to that class’ AP exam. With the other AP exams last week, drawing a poster during this period was kind of stressful for her.
My sophomore had an in class writing summative the week before the AP exam. Unfortunately they just cannot stop for everything. The teacher did give a study period the class before the exam which was nice.
IMO the poster activity could have been done about a month before the AP exam period. I think the teachers intention was good, it was meant to be a review for the AP exam and reinforce the materials. The summative grade was based on following a rubric and effort put into the assignment. Late posters were going to be deducted points. I let DC stay home one of the days to work on the assignment.
I hate posters. They are so time consuming.
