Different situation. Tables are also for sitting in a restaurant. It's not unused when someone sits there waiting for the order. Otherwise, you would order in restaurants and be seated when your food arrives from the kitchen. [/quote]

Restaurants with a waiter are different than fast food such as chipotle.  You absolutely should not sit at a table (unless the place is only half full or something) and then wait 10 minutes for your friend to go through the line and order food for you guys and pay for it.  If the place is full and people are standing around with trays looking for a table, and you're sitting at one scrolling your phone with no food even though your friend is still 8 people back in the line at chipotle, YTA.
