To the earlier commenters that recommended Patek Philippe, I say good luck. I have a decent purchase history at a local authorized dealer and have never been offered a Patek to purchase. For something unique with great history of watchmaking, I’d recommend Jaeger-LeCoultre, Breguet, or step it up to Vacheron. The watch brands I listed are available and represent fantastic watchmaking.
Can you please explain how this works? Do you buy the watch you want or do you buy the watch they want to sell? What if you don't want that watch?
There simply aren’t any Patek Philippe watches available for a customer even with a decent purchase history of other brands (e.g. Rolex, Omega, Cartier, etc…) to buy. The average waitlist for a Patek Philippe is @ 4yrs unless you’re willing to buy from a grey market dealer at 2x the price. Patek makes roughly 60K annually and the demand is far outweighs availability.
