Glass and Jawando are anti SRO:

In 2020, Jawando tried to get rid of SROs during the summer savings plan.  Glass and Jawando voted to get rid of SROs during the savings plan, Friedson voted to keep that funding.

In the fall of 2020, Jawando and Riemer then introduced a bill to get rid of SROs.

That bill expired without a vote.

Shortly after, Elrich pulled cops out of schools on 3/15/21 when he released his recommended budget.

Mind you, this was all taking place when MCPS and the Board were doing a comprehensive study of the pros and cons of having SROs in schools, with a large stakeholder group that included everyone - teachers, students, parents, principals, SROs.   And nobody waited for the results that were due later that year in June 2021.
