Seriously! Until I read this thread, I had no idea feds could retire after 6 years?! If so, no wonder the political wind is blowing against it. How about a hurricane?![/quote]

you can't retire afte working onlyr 6 years (unless you are retirement age).  you become vested after 6 years with the federal government and can get a small amount out of the pension when you do retire.  the amount goes up the longer you are with the federal government. [/quote]

if you only work 6 years - its only like a couple thousand a year. but yes, it is something.[/quote]
