I married at 36 and divorced at 50. The decline in the physical appearance of men during that span of time is dramatic. Some women also take a deep dive during those years. But women are able to get an updated hairstyle and color it and they can wear makeup to conceal age spots and sun damage. They can wear Spanx and push up bras without people laughing at them, whereas it's considered odd for a man to wear a waist cincher. You will do yourself a favor if you adjust your notion of what makes a man physically appealing at your age and at the age of men you'd want to date. There is no reason to excuse poor grooming. But it makes no sense to write off men with bad skin or who are balding. You don't have to date men who look pregnant, but don't reject everyone who has a dad bod. The model Paulina has a podcast about finding love at 50+ (She co-hosts it with her fiance who is bald). She noted how hot Captain Jean Luc Picard from Star Trek is, and how that helped her be open to bald guys.
GTFOH. Men habitually reject women for being plump, having stretch marks from pregnancy, for not having the waist-hip ratio they like, for not having a certain leg shape, or even for having "man" hands. However, we should look past their ugly bald heads with the flaky skin and patchy ring of hair. God forbid we reject them for being fat and flabby when they have no excuse whatsoever. Affirmative action for men needs to die. They don't give passes and they don't deserve passes.
"Men habitually reject women for being plump, having stretch marks from pregnancy, for not having the waist-hip ratio they like, for not having a certain leg shape, or even for having "man" hands." I think you're getting your information from old Seinfeld episodes. Not every man is attracted to every woman, but on average, our standards for finding a woman attractive are way lower than vice versa. The vast majority of men are physically attracted to the vast majority of reasonably fit women, regardless of details like stretch marks or leg shape.
You really think I'm going to be mansplained about male shallowness? How much experience do you have being a woman dating men? Bye.
