At the moment, it's the only single-family house on the market in the McLean HS district for under a million. By way of comparison, the only single-family house in the Langley HS district for under a million is outside the Beltway and appears to be a tear-down. So they shouldn't have a hard time selling this house at all.
Nobody is going to buy this house with the high school in mind. Whoever buys it will either not have kids or have little kids. It's a starter home.
Lol. No such thing as a "starter home" anymore, now that houses like this cost a million dollars.
Exactly. No one is getting their dream home and everyone around there works it out. As PP said, this is one of the only homes in the McLean school district under a million and I’d rather live in this home than a nicer home in Falls Church HS or the Justice HS district. There are still couples around that are “losers” like us and make :gasp: $250,000-$300,000 a year. A house like this at the top of the price range for that HHI.
Right, love when threads like these are posted and everyone is quick to point out every negative with the house. Makes me think all these people commenting have perfect homes - perfect layout, location, school district, etc. Bottom line is even at this price range and with a “poverty” $250-300K HHI (which is mine and my wife’s range), you are not going to get everything you want in a house. …that being said, my remarks haha - no basement is interesting, could be a good thing but given just the one family/living room with no real space for a TV (above the fireplace is no bueno) is unfortunate. Would think from the outside that upper floor would be at least 3 BR but I guess the walk-in closets and laundry room eat into the space. Walk to the metro advertised as 20 min but Google says 33 min.
