The poll questions are difficult to interpret.  My sympathies lie more with Palestinians, and that's how I would have answered the question. But my sympathies because they've been wrecked by Israel's retaliation over the inexcusable Hamas attack. And Israelis are by and large safe in their daily lives.  But just like the Middle East itself, my feelings are complicated.

I still feel Israel has a right to exist. 
I still feel Hamas is evil. 
I still feel Palestinian people are largely victims.
I still want a two-state solution. 
I still disagree with Israeli settlements in Palestinian territory. 
I still hate the authoritarian leadership of Netanyahu.

I appreciate that people have sympathy for the Palestinians but it seems clear at this point that the “two state solution” was also propaganda and there’s no actual plausible way it can ever happen.  There will only ever be one state, and either the Palestinians will be part of it or it will continue to be an apartheid regime.[/quote]

Israel has never wanted a two-state solution.  What Israel says and does are two very different things. One state is the only solution. An ACTUAL democracy, where all people are equal. Where Jews are safe and free, but not a "Jewish state."  Everything Israel accuses the Palestinians of (expelling Jews, for example) has been an action done by Israel. It is not a Netanyahu problem. It is not a Jewish problem. But it IS an Israel problem.
