Meals tax is not 1%, it is 4%. Total sales tax on meals is now 10%. Then you are supposed to tip another 20%. Then many of the restaurants we go to raised prices at the start of the year. A $40 meal a year ago is now $55 for a family of 4 at our favorite place. It's all compounded together. Instead of going every weekend like we used to, we're now skipping some weeks. [/quote]
