He could still walk, but eating, swallowing and breathing are critical so it wasn't a good sign that core functions were showing an impact. ALS can progress in different patterns with some keeping strong breathing and swallowing while losing the ability to walk or use their hands, while others are impacted in core functions but can still have some limb function.[/quote]
