The typical equivalent for women would be a solid gold band and then whatever engagement ring (not necessarily a diamond...) kept in a safe or lockbox and just brought out for more formal occasions. Like it's a joke, the woman with the most expensive and impressive engagement ring generally never wears it because it is impractical and flashy for day. Probably an heirloom. Again, old school, but standard there going back. IYKYK kinda thing. [/quote]
