My DS was rejected ED to Chicago and was accepted by Columbia and Brown in RD. His friend was also rejected ED to Chicago and ended up at Rice. They both went to extremely respected privates.

It is no lie. Chicago ED is the “easiest” admit in the top 25. Your “extremely respected” private was not being honest with you (or, more likely, you were not listening to them). Tell me, how many acceptances to Chicago ED did your respected private have? You have your naviance data. Many of us have shared ours…there is probably an explanation (your DS applying ED2 after ED1 acceptances, for example, from your school.

Even if there is not explanation, I know this is tough for you, but your n=2 means nothing. Any top 25 (if not living in-state) is a tough admit. Notice how “easiest” was in quotation marks? That means sometimes you get into some schools and not others. Duh.[/quote]
