Let's do some simple math.

1000 ED1 admits, assuming 18% is correct, 
1000/0.18 = ~6000 ED1 applicants.

That is a huge number, more than doubling ED1 applicants at JHU (2700).
This just doesn't feel right.

Are you sure your DC didn't hear it wrong?  Are you sure it's 18%?  Not 28% or 38%??[/quote]

OP here, the data titled "EA/ED1" is the two rounds combined. That means there were 1000 admits in both the ED1 and EA rounds. Sorry if that was unclear. [/quote]

They asked everyone to convert their EA applications to ED2.  Admits only a few from EA.  
I mean it's great if this is the correct number, but are you sure your DC got the right number?  It'd be embarrassing if it turns out to be the wrong number.  [/quote]
