North Carolina's population is significantly larger than the populations of Virginia or Maryland and due to the research triangle and Charlotte being a banking city, there are a lot of educated people in North Carolina. Massachusetts is "known for the quality of their high schools" but UNC is stronger than UMass in most areas of study.[/quote]
