I am not sure what else you want them to do. They are at the mercy of the weather forecast and UMD. If UMD makes an early call regarding closing the campus, then a plan can be set in motion. Any decision made pre-emptively will annoy people so it seems pretty no-win to me.

If the forecast solidifies around the idea that there will be a foot of snow starting Saturday evening into Sunday morning, I hope they proactively cancel Sunday so that people can return home before the snow starts and save themselves on the Saturday night hotel room. I wonder if they will consider changing the format to get the meet in on Friday/Saturday. They could start earlier on Friday, change the 13-14 lineup to the shorter 11-12 lineup, etc.
With the snow totals currently being called if you are in a hotel room night Saturday night you are going to be there at least Sunday night (and maybe Monday night as well).
Which is why if this forecast holds they should start planning for the cancellation of Sunday and assess whether changing the meet schedule or format is possible. There is no chance this meet runs on Sunday if there is a foot of snow that is going to fall on Saturday night into Sunday, so there should be some priority given to allowing people that are coming from a distance to plan to head home after Saturday’s events. Or cancel the whole thing and try to re-schedule it in the next few weeks? I feel like that is hard to do with the number of out of town teams involved though.
The plan will be wait and see - cancel if it snows a lot. Everyone else can put their big boy pants on and make a decision. You cannot reschedule, that is not a thing. You have pool rental fees (they could not afford it and the pools are booked months even years in advance). Compressing a meet is really not possible either, certainly with the number of swimmers involved.
That’s a pretty crappy plan to handle it for the out of town teams invited to the meet. This isn’t a PVS Open with just local team.

I don’t think any decision can be made today of course, but if we get to Thursday and a foot of snow Saturday night into Sunday is still being forecast I think they have an obligation to lay out a plan that is better than just wait and see. There are teams traveling from all over the NE to this meet. And this is the DMV, any amount of snow over 6 inches is going to be crippling and we all know that.
Why can't the traveling teams decide what is in the interest of their team? If I am coming in from NJ and know a foot of snow is supposed to come in Saturday night, the decision would be to leave on Saturday afternoon - early enough to get swimmers home safely. Has nothing to do with the meet. So, let's say that the meet still happens - it doesn't change dangerous road conditions for buses which do not drive well in weather. Is it extreme FOMO that a club (or a parent) can't say you know what, a day at a meet is not worth wrecking my car or my family's safety? I need someone to tell me it is okay to not attend? What if the roads are terrible locally - would you attempt to get to the meet if it was still happening? Take that risk? For a swim meet????
