People who have been convicted and imprisoned in state prisons in Minnesota and have ICE holds are released directly to ICE, so that's covered for felonies. Requiring local governments to enforce immigration laws takes resources and money away from their own law enforcement needs without full compensation from the federal government (even if they have the excess personnel to do this).

If you report them while they are arrested, it saves you resources of holding them in jail or holding a trial, as well as reducing burden on public services.[/quote]
