Devil's advocate -- Some people didn't learn to do their hair/makeup or dress for their body type until they were older, or they couldn't afford to do it. Also, there are new beauty products that didn't exist when I was in my 20s, like the smoothing and straightening stuff that enables me to transform my frizzy wavy hair into gorgeous silky long locks.

Similarly, in the late 80s/90s they didn't have things like Spanx and they didn't make bras that gave lift for full breasts without making them pointy. So, true hourglass curvy girls like me couldn't wear clothes that showed off their figure without looking strange. I didn't want to wear a full on, old lady girdle or a big ugly structured bra when I was 25. And of course, having a "big butt" (full butt with hips and a small waist) was not considered a positive thing in mainstream culture back when I was under 30.

Last, I have a round full face. I had it when I weighed 115 pounds. Now that I'm older, I have a bit of a hollow space on my cheeks and I really think it makes my face structure look better. To me, this improvement makes up for the tiny horizontal lines on my forehead and the early signs of marionette lines that came with age. [/quote]
