Plenty of cyber/tech roles are advertised. Specific skills and qualifications are required, however. Low level coding roles are not the focus. Sales positions of varying types at at varying levels always seem to be available. Most medical fields have lots of opportunities. Lower level administrative assistant-type roles are advertised widely. The hospitality industry has lots of openings at different levels. Most law enforcement agencies are hiring. The military is always recruiting. There are a lot of jobs available, but they may not all appeal to all who are job hunting, and not all who are job hunting are qualified for many of the roles available, due to mismatches between job requirements and applicant educational and experience backgrounds.
Most people unemployed are middle age.
Maybe so, maybe not. Either way, employment opportunities exist for those willing to pursue them. Some few have age limits, but most do not. It may be necessary to consider roles beyond what one has done previously. That might require starting lower down a different career ladder, pursuing additional education, training, and/or certifications, etc. Pivoting to a different career can be challenging but is not necessarily impossible for people who are motivated to take action to change their circumstances.
