(Change was made in early 2020s, which screwed families with older kids close in age who had done college planning according to the old rules.).  Some college will take siblings into consideration when determining aid, but not all, and even schools that do take siblings into consideration will treat this situation differently. [/quote]

This is incorrect.

There was a change that only applied to FAFSA and affected Pell Grant.  The financial aid for middle class families and up comes from college’s known funds and had nothing to do with FAFSA rules.[/quote]
