DS is a freshman, and lives in a suite with a small kitchen and refrigerator/freezer. He’s leaving to go back for second semester and I thought I would send him with some homemade food that he can put in the freezer and pull out for a pick me up. I’m looking for ideas! I could do cookies, but was thinking maybe protein muffins or an actual meal like lasagna might be more enjoyable? DS plays a spring sport if that matters (so I’m thinking a pre-practice snack?).
One of my sons loves meatloaf and I would mix the ingredients and then freeze the meat loaf in large cupcake pan and I did the same with Chili. I packed in a Yeti cooler with a layer of dry ice on bottom with cardboard on top, packed food, cardboard and layer of dry ice on top. Plus gloves and repeated written instructions on dealing with dry ice. I packed enough for his two roommates as well.
