I'm in a multi-generational book group. The older women in the group are amazing -- they always read the book and come with specific and interesting questions about it. Plus, they have great stories to tell about their lives and are very funny. Since we're not all the same age, we don't have the same boring conversations about our kids, menopause, our spouses, etc.
I'm in a book group that encompasses 30 to 80 year olds and is also open to women and men. I love all the different perspectives everyone brings to the table in life experience and our common love of reading. We mostly focus on current well reviewed, Booker-listed books. Some of us would like to toss in a classic once in awhile, but that's generally not well received.
