This is nuts. Saying the word, in any context, is problematic for teachers. Even if you’re just conveying another kid said it, DONT REPEAT THE WORD ITSELF. Everyone knows what you mean if you just reference it. It’s never ever ever required to say the word to report its usage. But then to get into a back and forth about how you should be allowed to say it adds fuel to the fire. Just idiot judgment but this kind of thing happens so much more frequently than you’d assume. My kid's 2nd grade teacher (elementary in same pyramid) did something incredibly similar, though without doubling and tripling down. We as parents were shocked and explained to our kid that a person can't say the word in any context. At the same time, we were kind of glad it never turned into a big thing. It was a dumb mistake by the teacher, but it was a mistake.[/quote]
