Frankly, this *is* a misspelling of the name. It’s awful and makes the user seem illiterate, like using Skyler for Schuyler, or Jillian for Gillian.[/quote]

Exactly!  In some regions, Emmalee and Emmeleigh and E'mmalee are not only accepted spellings for Emily, they are PREFERRED.

But that doesn't change my mind about those spellings.
