It’s the highlights and lowlights that op mentioned. It lightens the hair so it takes a while for grey to start really showing. If your hair is dark, then it’ll show sooner with the contrast[/quote]

Also single process color needs to be touched up much more often than highlights otherwise you see a straight demarcation. It is much cheaper to do singe process though. My mom told me never to dye my hair because she had to go to the salon for her roots every 3 weeks. That was single process color. With highlights and the way my stylist does my hair so it grows out well, I can get away with going every 3 months, 4 if I’m pushing. I have pretty light hair that’s going gray so that helps.[/quote]
