It’s not hard to get into UGA, perhaps your school isn’t seen as very good.
Bless your heart.
It objectively isn’t. They only take high stats kids EA but take a lot of kids they deferred in RD. Acceptance rate is 33 percent and middle 50 percentile SAT is 1300 to 1470. It’s selective but no where near top tier selective.
Agree. OOS from our DMV private the naviance for EA acceptance is 1400+ and top quarter GPA, some students who do not get in UVA EA in state will get in EA GA. For UGA who get deferred then IN RD our naviance shows average kids, 1300-1380, some lower than 1300, accepted GPA based on our school profile is a little above average for the EA-Deferred-accepted RD. UVA in state does not dip as low. It is used as a UVA backup for great but not top kids. Top kids use UVA as the backup to ivies, or use UNC-OOS as the ivy backup. UNC OOS is a different level of selective compared to UGA-OOS, not as hard as ivies or Duke from our school, similar to UCLA and UCB: top 10% or just outside, 1480+. However we are a MoreheadCain nominating private thus our private seems to be preferred over other privates in the area.
