I think I get it - because no one's ever really been to heaven.  and you'd need a spaceship to get there, if it even existed.

Way back when heaven was invented, humans didn't know what was beyond death - that you couldn't even breathe up there, out of the Earth's atmosphere.  They didn't even know that the earth had atmosphere!  Now we know all the stuff, but some people still believe in heaven.

I used to believe in heaven as a kid, and I knew all about outer space.  I just hadn't figured it out yet.   People are gullible and clergy needed people to believe in order to keep their jobs.[/quote]
