The subject is much bigger than the Civil War. It's far more complex and there are far more characters involved. It's amazing in that most Americans have no clue that the Revolutionary War was really a Civil War. Most people don't realize how everyone involved was screwed and most soldiers were treated poorly and never paid. Most people have no clue about the stasi like machine watching, controlling, intimidating citizens in to agreeing with the Revolution even though most people were neutral. [/quote]

I agree it's often overlooked by the masses that the American Revolution pitted loyalists against revolutionaries while many were neutral. But it's not unknown, it's discussed in all serious histories and we talked about it when I was in HS 30 years ago.

As for the rest of your post, I did raise an eyebrow. The loyalists were not kind to revolutionaries either. And ultimately one side won.[/quote]
