These are kids who would be full pay without the athletic scholarship and/or likely wouldn't have been accepted at all. Obviously, they are great athletes to be recruited to those schools and receive any $$$s, and they assume they will remain healthy and perform well in the sport. Worst case, they have to attend Stanford as just a non-athlete. BTW, sports like football and basketball are 100% scholarship for everyone on the team, and now baseball has moved to nearly 100% for the full roster at Power 4 schools. Some schools like Texas have decided that all athletes in all sports will receive 100% scholarships.[/quote]
