At any top school, social life is bifurcated between the wealthy/Greek life and those not wealthy. From another post on here not so long ago, it starts long before kids walk onto campus - it starts with connections in private school.

Walk around campus and take a look at the Golden Goose/Goyard/VCA/Cartier on the girls. Canada Goose & Moncler on everyone. Look at the cars kids are driving. A kid is driving a Lamborghini Urus at my kid's T10 (What!)

So, if it's expensive to go out, it may impede your kid's social life. And maybe they'll think the school is antisocial or grind, but the reality is a lot is going on - it just costs a lot or involves different people that your kid isn't connected to.[/quote]

Sure. But none of these kids earned that wealth. The kids with the unlimited cards are parasitical.

I think everyone is trying to find the schools where students are smart and friendly. And that's it.

And if some top ten schools are full of name brands and swanky cars and that's the scene - ugh, what a useless college experience for a human being. Expensive trash is still trash. [/quote]
