Watching Prop 50 in CA. People opposed say it’s not right but support TX doing it. Trump being the biggest hypocrite here. Can someone please explain their reasoning? Not their sound bites, their arguments. Or do they have real arguments?
Texas has been notified by the Department of Justice that its districts are in violation of federal law. California's redistricting measure was passed in violation of the California constitution. It requires a certain amount of time for a bill to be made available to be read before being voted on. This would not have worked for being on the ballot right now, so they instead took another bill that was already posted and replaced its text.
They "amended" its text. Nobody is confused about what this bill would do.
