Obviously it's an exaggeration, but rings true on some level.

My husband and I just had a discussion about a mystery coat that's been in our hall closet FOR YEARS. We've talked about it several times, asked family if it's theirs, friends, etc. I finally decided it was time for it to go to donation and suddenly he claims to not have heard anything about this coat before and "maybe he could wear lt."

It still hangs in the closet as of this morning. I'll report back if it's ever worn and if we have the same discussion in another year.[/quote]

This. The joke is that you tell them something. Over and over. Have them repeat it back to you. They not only forget but they have no recollection of the conversation at all. It's astonishing. They are fine at their jobs. Must be nice to carry just one stream in your brain. [/quote]

Exactly. The joke is that you tell them something and they have no recollection of being told. This doesn't happen with women as much because (unfortunately) women are still carrying most of the load when it comes to managing a couple/family's calendar. [/quote]
