I got a recent quote for 5K square feet, all hardwood, mid-range finishes from a builder commonly mentioned on here (not MR) and it was under $200/sq ft. Site work of course adds another chunk.[/quote]

Calm down weirdo. It was Focal Point. The public pricing for their semi-custom plans on their website are even lower - closer to $150 sq ft for 5/6K+ square ft.
