To be fair no politician is a good Christian or responsible for everything a pastor says just because he attends that church.

If we start interpreting everything Abrahamic holy books say, literally, none of us should be following these religions.

That being said, anyone trying to justify slavery, isn't a decent human, let alone qualified to interpret and teach any holy scripture to others.[/quote]
