When you run your own school, you can set the standards however you like. For schools like the "big 3" the kids getting in have demonstrated the academic ability AND have some other talents that contribute to the school community. The idea that you assume that it is binary is sad.[/quote]

Welcome to America!  That is why they get kids who don't know how know how to do simple math in college, only if they put even half of their passion in academics as they did in sports. [/quote]

you misconstrued my post. I asserted based on my firsthand knowledge, that being smart and being talented in sports or other pursuits, isn't binary. The schools are not going to take kids who won't have some level of success in the classroom just to use them for sports. It just doesn't work like that anymore.[/quote]
