I don't think these condemnations from Young Republican groups are enough in this context.  These chats weren't from some random members of Young Republicans.  These were the leaders of the group in many states.  One of them was running for chair of the national federation, and the group chat was part of his campaign.  Surely the much of the rest of the leadership were included on these chats, or knew about them.  This has an air of: "I am shocked, shocked to find gambling is going on in here!" [/quote]
