This has certainly been historically true, but at this particular point in time there is a lot of common ground between MAGA evangelicals, Christian nationalists, and so-called trad caths. I can 100% see the trad caths, led by the likes of JD Vance, breaking from the Pope and founding an American Catholic church.[/quote]

Regardless of how evangelicals feel about Catholics, MAGA Catholics elected Trump twice, and voted for Trump three times.  A huge part of his support is the Maga Catholic crowd.  They are very loyal to Trump.  Less so to the Pope.  They consider the Pope not Catholic enough, I suspect.[/quote]
