Perhaps we should also publish a list of people who travel to areas of endemic tuberculosis bc lord knows its much more insidious way to die of TB than of a gsw. Similarly, if we target the 2nd amendment bc our founding fathers did not foresee our advances in gun technology- we should go after the 1st amendment. Our founding fathers never thought Internet hate/inflammtory speech would be spread in seconds to the whole world and as such we should crack down on the first amendment.
TB only kills 500 people a year in this country. Those germs are far scarier in your head than the statistical reality, and that's certainly because of your mental illness about germs. Maybe if you knew about the massive release of bacteria into your abdominal cavity when you got gutshot, you would have a proper fear of bullets. But hey, if you think we should publicize everyone's travel on the off chance it may save 500 lives, then you should be happy to wear a big flashing red beacon every time you carry your weapon, because of course guns kill 70 times that many people. As for free speech, you are showing your desperation. Our Founders would love the Internet. Because anyone spouting bullshit like your TB idea can be refuted with a few minutes of research.
These analogies are actually strengthening the anti-gun argument. When a hospital gets a case of TB, wouldn't it immediately report it to the CDC? So in effect, yes, these types of diseases are monitored by geographic location. As a public health crisis, the same should be true with guns. Bad analogy. And same with the First Amendment. Your freedom of speech IS limited within reason. You are free as long as you don't slander another person. The same should go with guns. Gun owners have had so much freedom it is detrimental to the rest of society, and more reasonable limitations should be put in place.
