Extreme weather problems in both Brazil and Vietnam has affected global coffee prices. Doubtlessly the tariffs aren't helping either but prices would still be going up. For the people ranting about Trump (and I don't like the tariffs either) are you the same people who were claiming Biden's inflation was only transitional or that claimed you didn't feel it or even that it was right wing misinformation? Just asking as I see some of the same writing styles....
NP but "Biden's inflation" was caused by Covid and printed money checks written by both Trump and Biden. It was brought about by a global pandemic and limited choices to respond to that situation, it wasn't intentional terrible policy. Added to that, it was transitional! Inflation came back down, Biden and the Fed stuck the landing even though it was supposed to be impossible to accomplish. Contrast this with current policy: everyone knew that the tarriffs would be inflationary, and they weren't in any way necessary, but Trump did it anyway. Now the inflation is starting and the only way it can be countered is to perform an about-face on tarriff policy (which may well happen). Apples, meet oranges.
