I’m always quite proud of being the family quartermaster. Kids/dh run out of toothpaste? Next one is under the counter. Kids needs next size up in shoes? Already bought and in a bin on the shelf. Unexpected snow tubing trip? I have it all. Funeral to go to? Kids have the correct clothes already. I have 3 kids and both genders so it’s a bit of a challenge. Especially changing them over to winter gear and making sure they have all the stuff they need. I also am always on top of laundry. I get it all done, folded and put away multiple times a week. My house is also very well decorated. Can’t stay on top of kid clutter. I’ll have their playroom sparkling and then they trash it in one afternoon. Dhs tools are also everywhere. Dh also uses a million pans every night for dinner and I can’t keep up. Water bottles everywhere too! Grr
My guy is a gadget guy, and I have a box just for him, on the landing to the basement where his toys belong. If he leaves a soldering iron on the dining room table, he will find it in the box. "Have you seen a USB-a to HDMI cable??" IN THE BOX. Same on the well-decorated house. I've spent years getting it just the way I want it, and it gives me real pleasure just to sit and BE in my space. The correct clothes for a funeral, though... that's where I'd fall down. That would be a panicked target run.
