If you become a preferred sub at a school, you will usually be approached to fill in for a teacher that has to leave during the year - unplanned situations come up like this and principals will do their best to fill the position with a person they like first. I know someone that did long-term subbing for an entire school year for 1 teacher. Gatehouse will also send out emails occasionally to all substitutes to apply for a long-term position to openings at certain schools. Usually you are told to send resume directly to that school.[/quote]
