But the people who post their activity all seem to doing a lot of "social" Venmo-ing, always splitting checks with friends or paying people for vacation expenses. I also go to dinner with friends and on vacation -- I just don't use Venmo to do it. So I think it is partly performative, not unlike posting photos from an outing so that people know you went out.[/quote]
