DC, who lives on the Hill, says it could not be better or more safe. He reports that people, especially students and even a woman with a baby in a stroller, feel safe to walk at ten o'clock at night on H Street. There is also no more stealing of wheels and rims, which he saw right around the corner from him three weeks ago. He now goes out at night to shop or go to bars. People who live on the Hill are thrilled.
It’s always obvious when people are making shit up. I have lived on the Hill for 20+ years and have never been afraid to go out and do anything and I’m in my 50s. Is your DC a “conservative guy/girl afraid of everything”? Spirit Halloween has a costume for that now.
Please don't speak for 'people who live on the hill'. As somebody else who lives on the hill, everybody I talk to is very upset about the presence of the national guard, and our inability as a district to decide when/how to police our own streets. I was never afraid to go to restaurants or walk outside at 10pm, and I have lived here for 20+ years and raised kids here. I am less interested in going out now and seeing them in the streets.
